Accompaniment and translation in Medincentre’s Clinic
Medincentre is a unique medical facility established in 1948 to serve the diplomatic corps. Today, medical services are available to citizens of all countries:

The staff speaks five languages. Friendly receptionists will greet you at the entrance and escort you to the appropriate offices. Doctors, with the help of professional interpreters, will provide attentive and sensitive consultations.

Translation at appointments
1. Consultation with a doctor who speaks a foreign language
- Any information distortion is eliminated; doctor and patient communicate directly
- Direct contact fosters a more trusting relationship between patient and doctor
- The appointment is faster, as there is no need for an interpreter to dub over the speech
2. Involvement of a professional interpreter
- An interpreter is present during the appointment, translating the doctor-patient dialogue in real time
- The patient can appoint any specialist, regardless of their language skills
- The interpreter not only assists with communication with the doctor but also with navigation within the Medincenter

Written translation of medical documentation
Why is this a challenging task for a translator?
- High responsibility. An incorrect translation of a diagnosis, medication name, dosage, or procedure description can lead to inappropriate treatment, which directly impacts the patient's health and life.
- Abbreviations and acronyms. Medical documents are full of abbreviations (e.g., HbA1c, ECG, MRI, COPD, DIC syndrome). The translator must accurately decipher and correctly translate them into the target language.
- Style and format. Different types of medical documents have a strict structure and style (medical history, discharge summary, summary report, specialist report, surgical protocol, informed consent). The translator must reproduce this format in accordance with the accepted standards of the destination country.
- Confidentiality. Medical documentation contains personal information. The translator is obliged to adhere to the strictest rules of confidentiality and ethics.
