CT-scans at Medincentre: precise diagnostics

Computed tomography (CT-scan) is one of the most informative methods of medical diagnostics. The procedure allows to capture layered images of internal organs and tissues, which makes it irreplaceable to detect pathologies at early stages.

At Medincentre we use the modern Philips Incisive device, which provides high speed and accuracy of examinations. This tomography device works on low-dose protocols, minimising radiation exposure and making the procedure safe for patients.

When is a CT-scan recommended?

A CT scan may be recommended by a doctor to diagnose a wide range of conditions, diseases, and symptoms:

  • Fractures

  • Bruises / Contusions

  • Traumatic brain injuries

  • Brain tumours

  • Brain cysts

  • Intracranial haemorrhages

  • Pneumonia

  • Inflammation and tumours of the thoracic cavity

  • Abdominal inflammations

  • Abdominal tumours

  • Spinal deformities

  • Intervertebral hernias

  • Osteochondrosis

  • Thrombosis

  • Aneurysms

  • Stenoses

CT scans are often recommended when other diagnostic methods, such as X-rays or ultrasounds, do not provide sufficient information. They are also used to monitor the course of diseases during treatment of pneumonia, tuberculosis, and cancer; as well as for preventive lung screenings in smokers and individuals at high risk of lung cancer.
